Armin Strom AG opened for business in 1967 in the picturesque town of Burgdorf, northwest of Bern. After completing his watchmaking apprenticeship, Its eponymous owner, Armin Strom, opened his own shop in the Altstadt area of Burgdorf. Not content with merely selling and restoring watches, Strom began working on his own creations in the workroom behind the shop. A master skeletonizer, his first masterpiece was a gold pocket watch, with a hand-engraved dial in polished blue lapis lazuli. Several successful years later, in 2009, Armin Strom moved into its new, large production facility in the watchmaking town of Biel. That same year the first in-house Manufacture-Calibre, the ARM09 was created. Since 2012, Armin Strom is the official timing partner of the Marussia Formula 1 Racing Team.
