"Since 1735 there has never been a quartz Blancpain watch. And there never will be." These were the words of Jean-Claude Biver when he took over the running of Blancpain in the devastating wake of the quartz crisis in 1981. In their capable hands Blancpain quickly recovered lost ground and started to generate an annual turnover of CHF 50m. For the record, there is still no Blancpain that runs on a quartz watch. At the Le Brassus Manufacture, respect for watchmaking tradition blends seamlessly with a passion for innovative ideas. Blancpain pursues a rigorous quality policy designed to produce the best possible watches, designed and assembled entirely in Switzerland.
