This is a huge commitment by the Swiss company involving digital sensors, receivers, remarkable timing systems and a team of talented technicians. Everything is hauled around the world, set up for each event (each of which presents its own particular challenges) before being packed up once again to be transported to the next race. Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2014 – Not Just For Bikers

Every year Tissot unveil new MotoGP models using high-tech materials and some superb bike-inspired styling. Brake disk bezels, caliper-styling, sporty on-dial finishing, engine-like grooves, chunky styling and high-tech materials all combine to add to the appeal of these watches which are definitely “not-just-for-bikers”. This year’s Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Chronograph is recognisable by its red-on-black strap and red dial elements.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2014 – An Evolving Collection

The Tissot MotoGP collection has evolved over the years, but with a more subtle approach to translating the model’s racing heritage into design features, the 2014 MotoGP Automatic Chronograph is the best yet, and here’s why. Firstly this model dispels with the outsize numerals of previous editions, also this year the counters are of equal size thus offering a much more balanced dial and last, but by no mean least, this watch is sprinkled with subtleties which bike racing enthusiasts are sure to appreciate, such as the minute markers which are styled to replicate the starting grid markers which guide the riders to their grid position.

Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2014 – Signature Features

The dial has been decorated with a repeating pattern reminiscent of a chequered flag, the bezel resembles a ventillated brake disc and around the back a bike-wheel stencil allows only a glimpse through to the Swiss made automatic movement. The monochrome detailing of this piece contrasts with the red elements on the dial and strap, but wisely Tissot do not overdo the vivacity so the end result is stylish and not gaudy. The robust, sculpted case with its signature features of substantial date bubble and crown guard is in-keeping with the sporty character of the collection and as ever the piece is secured to the wrist with a silicon T-Race strap, and comes presented in a super-cool helmet-shaped box. The Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2014 Automatic Chronograph will be a limited edition of 3,333 pieces and retail under $1,000.
