Bulgari was established in Rome, Italy in 1884 by silversmith Sotirio Bulgari. His first store was located in Via Sistina. By 1905, he and his sons had opened a flagship store in Via Condotti which remains to this day. Bulgari is recognized not only for watches, but for exquisite jewellery, leather goods, fragrances and even hotels and resorts. In terms of watchmaking, Bulgari watches are imbued with passionate Italian style coupled with the precision and discipline of traditional Swiss watchmaking. In 1977 Bulgari launched the highly successful BVLGARI BVLGARI watch, (boldly engraved on the top and bottom of the bezel) which became a worldwide bestseller. Bulgari Time Neuchatel was created in 1982 with sole responsibility for the production of the brand’s watches. In 2002, Bulgari acquired Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta. Today the brand is part of the LVMH Group that also oversees highly respected marques such as TAG Heuer, Zenith and most recently, Hublot.
