Breitling has been a leader in technical and aviation watches since its founding in 1884. Breitling is the only major watch brand to equip all its watches with chronometer certified movements. When Léon Breitling founded the company he chose to focus exclusively on chronometers and timers. Breitling has been involved in aviation timekeeping since the days of the pioneers, and remains today a timepiece to which many pilots aspire. The brand developed onboard chronometers for use in the cockpit, and were part of the RAF’s equipment during World War II. Based in Grenchen in Switzerland, Breiling remains privately owned. Famous collections include the Breitling Navitimer, the Emergency watch, Emergency II launched in 2013, and the Chronomat. The brand also creates a series of high quality chronometers for Bentley known as Breitling for Bentley.
