Chopard

The 1850s and 60s saw the establishment of many of the Swiss watch brands we revere today. A case in point is Chopard, established in 1860 in Sonvilier, Switzerland, by Louis-Ulysse Chopard. The founder’s son Paul Louis Chopard moved the business to La Chaux de Fonds in 1921 where it resides in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking community to this day. German businessman Karl Scheufele bought the company in 1963 and it still remains in the Scheufele family. Karl Scheufele and his wife Karin have carefully overseen the company’s solid and well-earned success for more than 40 years and remain active in the firm. Today, co-presidents Caroline Scheufele and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, a dynamic brother and sister team, oversee the day to day running of the company. Synonymous with luxury jewellery and watches, famous Chopard watch ranges include the Mille Miglia collection as well as the L.U.C. (standing for Louis-Ulysse Chopard) series.
