The aim of a watch case is to prevent dust and moisture entering the watch and also to safeguard it against impacts.
A watch case differs depending on the model or watch brand and comes in many different shapes such as round, oval, square or rectangular as well as more unusual ones.

The profile of the case can also vary from being flat or curved.

The watch case is the central section used for containing the movement, dial and hands. A ring called a cuvette will hold the crystal in place.
